Our Staff & Team

At Myaree Medical Centre we have experienced staff who are keen to provide you with a high quality service. Our staff include:

Dr Dale Allen

M.B.  F.R.A.C.G.P.

Dr Allen is an experienced GP with interests in all aspects of general medicine, surgical skin procedures, Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

He has been practicing at Myaree Medical Centre since its inception and is available Monday to Thursday.

Dr Paul Cook

M.B.B.S.  R.A.C.O.G.  F.R.A.C.G.P. Dip. Obst. Dip. Sport Medicine

Dr Cook is also very experienced in general practice having worked in the field for over 30 years. He has special interests in sports medicine and skin cancer diagnosis.

Paul is available Tuesday and Thursday.

Dr Melissa Lee


Dr Melissa enjoys all aspects of family medicine with particular interests in preventative medicine, Women’s, Children’s and Adolescent health, family planning and general dermatology. She has spent time working at Fremantle and Fiona Stanley Hospitals, in addition to caring for patients at Perth Children’s Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital.

She has completed the FPAA Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health, the Diploma in Child Health and is an accredited Youth Friendly Doctor. She is able to insert/ remove the Implanon and IUDs and provide management for unplanned pregnancies. She can also administer iron infusions. Prior to Medicine, Dr Melissa was living in Melbourne and has spent some time at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute doing research on asthma. Outside of work, she loves to hone her culinary, baking and flat lay photography skills. She is mum to Swiss White Shepherd (Alfie) and Husky (Luna).

Dr Melissa has appointments available Monday to Friday.

Dr David Porritt


Dr David Porritt joins us from a busy practice in Canningvale. He graduated from The University of Notre Dame in 2014 after making the move from his home city of Melbourne. David has an interest in all aspects of general practice with special interests in:

– Men’s health
– Preventative health
– Child and adolescent health

Dr David is able to perform iron infusions and minor surgical procedures.

David is available Monday to Friday.

Dr Brian Lim BSc


Dr Brian is an experienced general practitioner and skin cancer physician. He did all his medical training in NSW and graduated from The University of New South Wales (UNSW) in 2007. He subsequently completed his specialist training in general practice and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Brian practices all aspects of general practice and has been practicing skin cancer medicine since 2012. He has done further training in skin cancer medicine and completed a number of certificates, namely –

– Advanced Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine
– Advanced Certificate of Dermoscopy
– Certificate in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine – The University of Queensland
– Professional Certificate of Dermoscopy
– Certificate in The Prevention and Early Detection of Skin cancer.

Dr Brian offers thorough full body skin checks to his patients and continually strives to provide excellent care to his patients. He is able to perform onsite skin cancer related procedures such as skin lesion biopsies, excisions of skin cancers/ basal cell carcinoma/ squamous cell carcinoma/ melanoma, and cysts removal.

He enjoys educating patients about their medical issues to help them understand and be able to make informed decisions regarding their health. He is fluent in both English and French.

Brian is available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Dr Nancy Yiin


Dr Nancy grew up in Taiwan before moving to New Zealand – where she completed all her schooling. She graduated from The University of New South Wales in 2007 and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
She has previously worked in different urban and rural hospitals & general practices in NSW for quite a number of years. She moved to Perth in 2019.

Dr Nancy is a general practitioner who enjoys all aspects of family medicine. She has special interest in women’s health, antenatal (pregnancy) shared care, family planning, sexual health and paediatrics. She enjoys getting to know the whole family and watch the family grow.

She has attained a Certificate in Women’s Health with RANZCOG and Family Planning NSW. She is able to perform onsite procedures such as Implanon insertion & removal, Mirena removal and minor skin procedures. She is currently undertaking lactation course with Australasian Lactation Course and planning to sit the exam to become an accredited lactation consultant to provide more support to new mothers.

Dr Nancy is fluent in both English and Mandarin. When she is not at work she is a busy mom enjoying spending time with her energetic young boy.

Dr Brodie Thorpe

M.B.B.S. (Hon)

Dr Brodie completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2014, graduating with Honours from the University of Western Australia. She completed her internship and residency at Fiona Stanley, Fremantle and Rockingham General Hospitals before going on  to complete specialist training in General Practice through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Brodie has completed the FPAA Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health and has done further training in Implanon and Intrauterine Device (IUD) insertion and removal. She is also able to administer iron infusions and perform minor procedures such as abscess drainage and wound suturing.

She enjoys all aspects of General Practice with particular interest in;

– Women’s health

– Sexual and reproductive health (including Implanon and IUD insertion and removal)

– Family planning and early pregnancy care

– Unplanned pregnancy counselling

– Child and adolescent health

– General skin care and management of common skins disorders (such as Acne, Rosacea and Eczema)

Dr Brodie is completing additional training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists to increase her expertise in skin cancer management.

In addition to her clinical work she is passionate about health education and runs a blog on her website which covers a wide range of medical topics.

When Dr Brodie is not at work she is busy chasing after her young daughter and keeping her two Burmese cats out of mischief. When she can find time she enjoys gardening, cooking and reading.

Practice Manager & Reception

Julia Barton manages the front desk and is available to answer any enquiries’ related to appointments, billing or general administration.

Jan, Toni and Nancy are our receptionists, each working on a part-time basis.

Practice Nurses

Amanda Rick is a registered nurse with experience in general practice nursing.

She is available for immunisations, over 75 year old health checks, 45-49 year old health checks, care plans, general nursing care, including instruction for asthmatics on the use of devices and advice for diabetics.

She is on duty Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm.

GP Registrars

Myaree Medical Centre has recently been accredited as a training practice for basic and advanced general practice registrars. Registrars are qualified doctors who have completed their hospital training and are working, under supervision, while continuing to study and prepare for their fellowship examinations. They are enthusiastic and very motivated to provide a thorough and comprehensive service, thereby utilising the knowledge and skills they have learned.
