Our Staff & Team

At Myaree Medical Centre we have experienced staff who are keen to provide you with a high quality service. Our staff include:

Dr Dale Allen

M.B.  F.R.A.C.G.P.

Dr Allen is an experienced GP with interests in all aspects of general medicine, surgical skin procedures, Public Health and Tropical Medicine.

He has been practicing at Myaree Medical Centre since its inception and is available Monday to Thursday.

Dr Paul Cook

M.B.B.S.  R.A.C.O.G.  F.R.A.C.G.P. Dip. Obst. Dip. Sport Medicine

Dr Cook is also very experienced in general practice having worked in the field for over 30 years. He has special interests in sports medicine and skin cancer diagnosis.

Paul is available Tuesday and Thursday.

Dr Melissa Lee

MB.BS DCH

Dr Melissa enjoys all aspects of family medicine with particular interests in preventative medicine, Women’s, Children’s and Adolescent health, family planning and general dermatology. She has spent time working at Fremantle and Fiona Stanley Hospitals, in addition to caring for patients at Perth Children’s Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital.

She has completed the FPAA Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health, the Diploma in Child Health and is an accredited Youth Friendly Doctor. She is able to insert/ remove the Implanon and IUDs and provide management for unplanned pregnancies. She can also administer iron infusions. Prior to Medicine, Dr Melissa was living in Melbourne and has spent some time at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute doing research on asthma. Outside of work, she loves to hone her culinary, baking and flat lay photography skills. She is mum to Swiss White Shepherd (Alfie) and Husky (Luna).

Dr Melissa has appointments available Monday to Friday.

Dr Brodie Thorpe

Dr Brodie completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2014, graduating with Honours from the University of Western Australia. She completed her internship and residency at Fiona Stanley, Fremantle and Rockingham General Hospitals before going on  to complete specialist training in General Practice through the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Brodie has completed the FPAA Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health and has done further training in Implanon and Intrauterine Device (IUD) insertion and removal. She is also able to administer iron infusions and perform minor procedures such as abscess drainage and wound suturing.

She enjoys all aspects of General Practice with particular interest in;

– Women’s health

– Sexual and reproductive health (including Implanon and IUD insertion and removal)

– Family planning and early pregnancy care

– Unplanned pregnancy counselling

– Child and adolescent health

– General skin care and management of common skins disorders (such as Acne, Rosacea and Eczema)

Dr Brodie is completing additional training with the Australasian College of Dermatologists to increase her expertise in skin cancer management.

In addition to her clinical work she is passionate about health education and runs a blog on her website www.drbrodiethorpe.com which covers a wide range of medical topics.

When Dr Brodie is not at work she is busy chasing after her young daughter and keeping her two Burmese cats out of mischief. When she can find time she enjoys gardening, cooking and reading.

Practice Manager & Reception

Julia Barton manages the front desk and is available to answer any enquiries’ related to appointments, billing or general administration.

Jan, Toni and Nancy are our receptionists, each working on a part-time basis.

Practice Nurses

Amanda Rick is a registered nurse with experience in general practice nursing.

She is available for immunisations, over 75 year old health checks, 45-49 year old health checks, care plans, general nursing care, including instruction for asthmatics on the use of devices and advice for diabetics.

She is on duty Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm.

GP Registrars

Myaree Medical Centre has recently been accredited as a training practice for basic and advanced general practice registrars. Registrars are qualified doctors who have completed their hospital training and are working, under supervision, while continuing to study and prepare for their fellowship examinations. They are enthusiastic and very motivated to provide a thorough and comprehensive service, thereby utilising the knowledge and skills they have learned.
